Dress Rehearsals

Yes!  We are down to the Dress Rehearsals!

We are getting so close to being ready, but everyone still needs to work on their confidence as far as cue/response goes.  Please, Please, parents - have your kids practice this week whenever you can find spare minutes!  They can practice with you or a sibling who is old enough to help them.  Let's really focus on what I call the "crazy scene" where the Herdmans ask a lot of questions about the Christmas Story and ends with them wanting Charlie to be Herod and everyone running off stage screaming.

This will be a great HELP to me and take a lot of stress off, if the kids are improving in this last area.
Thank you again, for all of your dedication and encouragement, and willingness to make/bring cookies to the performances!

The last 2 dress rehearsals are Thursday and Friday at 6 pm.  Several people have said they have things going on Thursday night, so if you ABSOLUTELY can't come on Thursday, I understand.  Let's ALL try to be there on Friday!
Reminder - please come to church at 5 pm Saturday (We'll have PIZZA dinner for the actors)
and be there at 2 pm Sunday.
Good job everyone, and let's make the rest of it GREAT!!
See you soon

Only three rehearsals left!!

Yes, we are getting so close now!  Everyone pretty much knows their lines by heart, BUT we're still having a significant amount of trouble with WHEN to say them.  (I had to to a LOT of prompting on Sunday!)
So, the "homework" for this week - if we can find time with Thanksgiving - It's very important that the kids practice "cue and response" with parents or siblings.  I'm hoping things can go smoother at this Sunday's practice!

Since we only have three practices left, EVERYONE (including little ANGELS) needs to be at all of them (Sunday Nov. 30 @ 12:30, Thursday Dec. 4 @ 6 pm and Friday Dec. 5 @ 6 pm)

Andersen's - don't worry, I have your "absent" days noted!

We missed Tilly and Sally last Sunday!  Also, welcome Clayton to our cast!  You are doing FABULOUS!  I was so pleased with how fast you learned your lines and cues!  Thank you!!

Also, one last thing - here are the people I know will be bringing snacks for the play (2 dozen, on 2 separate plates) :

Brandi, Kamiyo, and Jeanne

We really could use everyone's help in providing cookies for guests after both shows!  If you are willing to make/buy cookies for the shows, please let me know!  (I'm bringing some too!)

Thanks again!! Happy Thanksgiving, and I hope to see you Sunday at 12:30!

Snacks for the Play ....

Hello again!  We are doing 2 shows this year, and we *need* : ) to have cookies after both shows!  And hot chocolate .....

So, would all of you "stage moms" be willing to make/bring 2 dz cookies for the play?  1 dz for each performance.  I will be bringing 2 dozen as well.  If so, will you please let me know so I can have an idea of how many we'll have?  Please separate them onto 2 plates, 1 dz each, so they'll be ready to go for the 2 shows, and label them Sat and Sun?  That would be fantastic!!

Also, if any of you are willing to make sure we have 2 "coffee pots" (at church) full of hot water for cocoa after the shows, that would be fantastic as well.  I truly appreciate all of the help that you always provide for our performances!  They are a group effort!

I look forward to hearing from you soon!

~Whew~  -- That's one more thing off my to-do list!!

Costume Requirements

We are almost ready to start doing dress rehearsals!  Whew - time is flying by!
Most of the kids have costumes that I am providing, but there are a few things that kids will need to bring to wear.  Here is, I hope, a complete list of what kids will need to start wearing from home:

All of the kids need to wear shoes!  : )

For the "church kids", any nice church-y shoes will do.  For the Herdmans, I prefer tennis shoes/sneakers or whatever they call them nowdays.
Church boys (Jeremy, Isaac, Adrien) need to wear pants (preferably not jeans) and either a button-down shirt or a polo shirt.
Church girls (Natalie, Ceirsha, Emily, Bella, Tilly) need to wear either a dress or a skirt and nice shirt.
I have a costume for Brooklyn, pink and white, so she just needs to wear shoes that will go with it.

The Herdman boys (Lukas, Logan, Riley) need to wear jeans (preferably old, with holes and such if they have them).  Kaelem will be wearing his blue plaid pj bottoms and an old-looking t-shirt.

Herdman Girls have costumes, but Lauren needs to wear old-looking pants/jeans, and Dixie needs to wear any mis-matched socks (knee highs) and any shoes she wants, as well as the hat with the face on it.

Sally is the Sunday School Teacher, so she needs to wear a skirt and nice shirt, and I would like her to wear her hair in a bun.  : )
Little angels can wear anything, because the whole time they are on stage, they will be wearing the angel costumes over their clothes.

I think I already told the adults what they should wear, but I am ready and willing to answer any questions anyone has.  Thank you all!!

I THINK that is everything.

Thanks again!!

Practice March 23 .....

This Sunday's practice is going to be a bit different because... there is the Mexico Youth Missions Team Fundraiser Taco Lunch and Dessert Raffle!!

Yes, that's a mouthful... :)

So, what we'll do is go to the event and the kids can eat lunch etc.
Then at 1:30 we'll go into the sanctuary and practice until 2:30.

Next Sunday's practice will be back to the normal time, 12:30 - 2 pm, and I'm asking that the kids please each bring their own lunch/snack this time.  Thank you!!!

See you all soon, and memorize, memorize, memorize!  :)

The Lunch Crew.... again!

Well, we've got the costumes!! There are a few props we still need, but this play is going to be very simple due to - no costume changes, no set changes, minimal props.  That said, we can have dress rehearsals earlier than usual, starting on March 30th.

This week is a regular rehearsal, from 12:30 - 2 pm in the main sanctuary, then next week we'll have a break.  When we all come back together on March 9th, everyone should try to be "off book"  aka - no more scripts on stage.  : )

Feel free to refer back to the earlier post for the whole rehearsals schedule.

Thank you everyone!!

See you soon
Tia
