Rescheduling

Okay ... with everything that's been going on, I think I have nailed down a new weekend for the kids to do their play - May 16th at 6 pm and May 17th at 3 pm

We will start rehearsals again on April 19th, so everyone please memorize your parts so we won't need our scripts when we start up again! :)

PLEASE let me know ASAP if this performance weekend will work for you, so we won't have any more scheduling conflicts (other than people getting sick, which can't be avoided).  Thank you so much everyone!!

The Last Three Rehearsals

This is it!  It's that time again!  We only had 2 rehearsals on the calendar, but I really feel like we need an extra one.  So, I hope everyone will be able to make it to all 3 remaining rehearsals, as we have a LOT of fine-tuning to do, especially where props and costumes are concerned.

Here is the schedule for the rest of this month:

Rehearsal Saturday, March 21st at 10:30am - noonish
Rehearsal Sunday, March 22nd at 12:30 - 2ish
Final Dress Rehearsal Friday, March 27th at 5:30-6:30 pm

Show dates/times:

Saturday March 28th at 6 pm (be there at 5)
Sunday March 29th at 3 pm (be there at 2)

Thank you everyone!!! This is becoming a really fun play!
Please let me know if there are any rehearsals that your kid(s) won't be able to attend.  Thanks!!

PS!!!  I have the costumes, but as always, there are some things the kids need to wear/bring if they have them!

Girls- please wear tank tops and leggings shorts under your clothes from now on at rehearsals and during the show to make costume changes possible.  I will have "dressing room" areas set but there will be boys and girls on both sides of the off-stage areas, so boys please account for this as well.  Boxers???

As far as shoes go, let's avoid brightly colored tennis shoes for this, try to stick to either white, black, or brown.

Here are some specifics that I can think of :

Lukas - please wear black pants if you have them, then there will be no need for you to change pants at all.
Brooklyn - bring blue jeans (and boots if you have them) for "Hank"
Riley - bring blue jeans (and boots if you have them) for "Bob"
Wolfie - bring brown socks if you have them.  (2 pairs- one for your feet and one for your "dragon hands")

That's it for now, we'll see how Saturday's rehearsal goes and I'll update parents on anything else we realize we need.  Thanks again!!

Updates!

Hey there again - I hope you're all well and enjoying the approaching Springtime!!
We've had 2 practices so far, and they've been going really well and the kids all seem to be having fun!
We are not meeting this Sunday, March 1st, due to a meeting after church that I need to attend.  The kids all should have scripts at home, and I told them that when we meet again on March 8th, they need to have at least half of their lines memorized.  We have a little bit of a crunched practice schedule this time, as the play performance dates are March 28th at 6 pm and March 29th at 3pm.

If you have any questions at any time, please feel free to ask me!  My email is elliesauntie96@yahoo.com.

Here is an updated list of cast members as it stands right now:

Mom - Elaine Brock
Dad - Jeff Brock
Mr. Avery - Roel U.

Matthias/Gangster/Jedi - Lukas
Flora/Spunk - Ceirsha

Just In Time ... ??

Hello everyone!  Happy Valentine's Day!  I hope you all have a fun weekend. ....  And don't forget that rehearsals for our spring play, Just In Time, start this Sunday, Feb. 15th!  We have a slightly shorter time period between starting rehearsals and the performance dates on March 28th and 29th, so let's make sure everyone can come to all of their scheduled rehearsals!

Most kids will be playing multiple short scenes as different characters, so I will post a rehearsal schedule some time next week.  Here is the list of cast members:

Mom - Elaine Brock
Dad - Jeff Brock
Mr. Avery - Rod Johnson ??
Ben - Isaac Andersen
Olivia - Dixie Kitchens
Danny/Dragon - Wolfie??
Katie - Hannah Andersen
Ahaz/Prince Phillip/Bob - Riley Kitchens (Unless Wolfie can't be in the play, then Riley will be Danny/Dragon and I'll need someone else to have this part)
Merchant/Noblewoman #2/Sunbird - Natalie
Matthias/Gangster/Jedi - Lukas ??
Flora/Spunk - Ceirsha
Meg/Flapper/Hippie - Natasha
Sam/Rich Man - Lauren
Noblewoman #1/Hank/Alien - Brooklyn

Crew - we need 4 adults to be our stage hands, very important in this play, to hold up our "scene change" curtain and change the backdrops.

Thank you everyone!!

The Spring Play Begins ...

Hello again everyone!  I have the updated and official start date for the spring play, "Just In Time", which is .... Sunday, February 15th at 12:30 in the great room.

There were some kids who turned out for auditions on Feb. 1st, so I took down their names and will do my best to give them their preferred roles.
So far, I have participating in the play ....

Dixie, Riley, Wolfie, Lauren, Brooklyn, Isaac, Natalie, and Hannah.

If everyone could let me know before the 15th any other names of kids who want to participate, that would be fantastic!!

Thank you!

a New Year, a New Play ....

Yes, we are there again!  This year's spring play will be one that I wrote myself.  It's called "Just in Time" and it's based on the whole Adventures in Odyssey idea.  The kids will have the opportunity to play multiple parts, but I encourage them to invite their friends to participate!

"Auditions" (such as they are) will be Feb. 1st, and yes I know that's Superbowl Sunday, SO - please let me know what you think about this,  as I will be watching the GAME as well - what if Auditions are after second service from 12:30 - 1 pm, as the game starts at 3:30 I believe?

PLEASE let me know if this will work.  If the majority says it won't work out, we will need to push auditions ahead to Feb. 15th.

I hope to hear from you soon!  Have a great rest-of-the week!
Thank you!!

Dress Rehearsals

Yes!  We are down to the Dress Rehearsals!

We are getting so close to being ready, but everyone still needs to work on their confidence as far as cue/response goes.  Please, Please, parents - have your kids practice this week whenever you can find spare minutes!  They can practice with you or a sibling who is old enough to help them.  Let's really focus on what I call the "crazy scene" where the Herdmans ask a lot of questions about the Christmas Story and ends with them wanting Charlie to be Herod and everyone running off stage screaming.

This will be a great HELP to me and take a lot of stress off, if the kids are improving in this last area.
Thank you again, for all of your dedication and encouragement, and willingness to make/bring cookies to the performances!

The last 2 dress rehearsals are Thursday and Friday at 6 pm.  Several people have said they have things going on Thursday night, so if you ABSOLUTELY can't come on Thursday, I understand.  Let's ALL try to be there on Friday!
Reminder - please come to church at 5 pm Saturday (We'll have PIZZA dinner for the actors)
and be there at 2 pm Sunday.
Good job everyone, and let's make the rest of it GREAT!!
See you soon
Tia
